About Mike McKenzie

I grew up in a musical family. My mom sang in church and my dad sang everywhere. I took up guitar at the age of twelve, listening to all styles of music. That’s what I like to play. One style really limits you. Learning from my dad and all his friends, their style was mostly country. Although, nowadays I realize my dad was a rocker for his era and I myself am partial to upbeat music. I started playing in my dad’s band when I was sixteen. Began singing in the band when I was around twenty two mainly so I could play the songs I thought people wanted to hear. I’ve had the pleasure of opening for acts like T Graham Brown, John Conlee, Con Hunlee, Bryan White, Tim McGraw at Swampstock and several others. We have backed up artists like Percy Sledge and John Wesley Ryles. I want to thank everyone who has supported me through the years and look forward to many more.
